
Dr. O’Shea is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She provides Individual Therapy and Neuropsychological Assessment with children, adolescents and adults. She has several years experience working with patients who have a wide range of Anxiety Disorders, including those relating to medical conditions, performance anxiety and trauma. Dr. O’Shea utilizes biofeedback, insight work and other techniques to reduce the distress her clients are feeling.
Dr. O’Shea started her psychology career as a School Psychologist, where she began training in 1993 at Sacramento State’s School Psychology Program. As part of the training she facilitated counseling groups, provided assessments and participated on IEP meetings. After receiving her M.S. degree (1995) Dr. O’Shea worked for several years as a school psychologist where she had the opportunity to advocate for children and to assist parents in finding the best possible solution to their specific child’s educational needs. It also gave her the knowledge to navigate the IEP process and work on numerous multidisciplinary teams. Dr. O’Shea pursued her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University. She has extensive experience working with an adult population as a Neuropsychologist, Therapist, Supervisor and Teacher. Dr. O’Shea’s experience includes working in two area medical centers with brain injured patients on both outpatient and inpatient units.
Dr. O’Shea is currently affiliated with the North Shore LIJ System’s Rehabilitation Medicine Department as a Neuropsychologist. Dr. O’Shea also works as a consultant at skilled nursing facilities on their Rehabilitation Units in addition to her private practice.
